A Princess is born by jamibann

A Princess is born

Just back from Arizona Canyons and a London rugby weekend - I have piles of chores to do, over 1000 photos to sort through and two weeks of 365 to catch up on ... but I had to post this, as we happened to be in the right place and went to Buckingham Palace this morning to see the official announcement of the birth of a Princess. This only stays out at the Palace for 24 hours, and there were a few people trying to get the same shot, so I was quite chuffed, all things considered! Back soon ... once I have surfaced from the washing and the chores!
Wonderful composition and DoF, plus a very special announcement.

I like the fact that you got the guard in the background.

A historical capture, one might say. I like the out-of-focus bright red guard too.

@aecasey @randystreat @skskunky @dide @tristansmum @thehazylandboys @desertaura Thank you everyone for the nice comments - even made the popular page, although not quite sure how! But the other funny thing was that I actually guessed the name of the baby correctly the day before it was made official. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. :-)

the dof is just perfect, the splash of red from the guards jacket just adds to the splendour of the announcement of our new princess

This is such a cool shot - love the dof with the guard subtly in the background. Must have been exciting to be there at that time to get this shot. Welcome back home.

LOVE your composition and your capture of this historic sign. And the guard's pop of read makes the shot.
