La Torchère by jamibann

La Torchère

Yesterday I went to visit the Ceramics Museum in Sèvres, on the outskirts of Paris. It was a very interesting visit. My favourite piece was undoubtedly this one - La Torchère designed and made by Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse for the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. It was restored in 2007, supervised by Claire Idrac. If you're interested in seeing more of the statue, and its restoration, check out : http://www.sevresciteceramique.fr/site.php?type=P&id=471 Better on black, clearly.
This is gorgeous FAV

What an exquisite picture you've created. And the VOB (view on black), all the more so. The pictures on the link were disturbing... all those pieces laying about! The restoration work is amazing. Thanks for sharing the link along with your photo.
