The Silent Howlers - Laura Ford

My final day in Oslo saw me out walking around Akerhus Fortress, which stands high on the hill overlooking Oslo Fjord. Here I encountered British Sculptor Laura Ford's 'Silent Howlers' (2016). I loved them. I'm sharing another image on my 'Odds and Sods' album if you're interested. There were also many more sculptures on display throughout the grounds of the castle. Unfortunately the interior of the castle is only open for viewing at a weekend. I'll have to save that for a future trip.

After that I visited the Nobel Peace Museum prior to checking out of my accommodation, having lunch by the cathedral and then taking the superb express train out to the ultra-modern new airport.

The end of a wonderful trip, but I'll share a few more photos over the next few days before I switch my thoughts and shots to Paris once more.
Wow, so dramatic and lifelike! Nice capture!

These are wonderful, we were in Oslo earlier in the year but for a very short four day break and we didn't get to the Fortress, now I wish we had!

This is quite a sculpture -- I thought, at first, it was a candid -- so completely taken in by in, in a good way.

At a glance one would believe this to be a real child at the gate.
