Well, this isn't the best photo ever, but I wanted to use it to document our cycle ride yesterday. It was the foulest of days! Cold and very, very rainy. I had signed up, along with 4 friends from our cycle club to do this event - 63 km - to promote feminine cycling in our area. Unfortunately, because of the weather forecast, everyone pulled out except me! Not to be labelled a 'fair weather cyclist' I decided to go for it and represent the club, regardless. These 3 other hardy ladies, from other clubs, joined me. This is at the half way point when although we were all soaked through, the rain had actually gone off for a bit. I look like a little tubby (far left) but I had about 4 layers on under the very sexy cycle club green safety waistcoat. And don't you love the shower cap style helmet cover?! It's not very elegant, but keeps the rain from pouring through the cycle helmet. The best part of the day? My warm shower afterwards. :-)
Good on all you ladies for braving the elements! I remember doing some cycling in wet weather but at least it wasn't very cold. And the warm bath afterwards was just wonderful.
Love all the colors you 4 were wearing - a dedicated and determined group which I think is great! Do love the idea behind your helmet cover - wonder who came up with that! It looks like you 4 didn't let the weather keep you from enjoying the day.
What a trooper you are! What a gal. I had to laugh when you said you looked tubby because I was thinking how slim you all look. You must be a waif when minus all the layers. It's the bike riding/skiing/hiking/gardening/etc that keeps you so slim, most definitely.
Such fun! This photo makes me smile. A wonderful memory for the four of you! I totally agree with Denise about when you said you looked tubby...you definitely DO NOT look tubby. :-)
WHAT A TROOPER you are!!! You and all those ladies are to be commended for commitment! You can be proud of that accomplishment, and I think your teammates who took a leave of absence owe you a spa day!!!
