Back to Oslo for one more shot, then I'm moving on, I promise.
Oslo Airport is quite a place. Very modern - I believe it opened in 1998. When looking for that date, I also discovered on Wikipedia that 'the percentage of passengers using public transport to get to and from the airport is one of the highest in the world at nearly 70%'. Not surprising at all. We took a taxi when we arrived, as we had a lot of luggage, including my daughter's snowboard, and it was very late. For a 23km journey it cost us over 1000 NOK (~$120) and it took about 40 mins, door to door. Oh, and there was a 40%, yes 40%, surcharge if I used a credit card! I had cash! As I was travelling back alone during the day, with very little luggage, I took the express train out to the airport. It cost me 180 NOK (~$21) and I was there in 20 minutes! It's a no brainer. I know what to do on future trips.
Fascinating shot with so many interesting elements -- b&w is a great way to present it. I do love public transport and wish all cities had it available. Cheaper...faster...but you're right about hard to do with a lot of luggage!
Awesome capture! That certainly is a modern airport. Enjoyed reading your narrative . . . always so interesting to read about your travel adventures. :-)
