We're out! We've disposed of everything we needed to dispose of, moved our stuff to Paris, cleaned everything, taken the final readings and moved out! We were exhausted last night, but had just enough energy to walk around the corner and have pizza in a cute little Italian restaurant. I sense it might become a local for us.
On Tuesday we sign the contract with the buyers. We find it odd that in France, buyers and sellers sit down with lawyers to sign the contract of sale for the house. Makes it a bit of a stressful event. There'll be another sigh of relief once that's done.
Our daughter insisted that we set up the camera with the timer to take a final photo outside the house - we obliged, despite our advanced state of fatigue!
I agree this is a great photo to keep as memory for the happy times you had here and it marks a bit the start for going home later that year. All the best for your Paris home,... sending you virtual salt, bread and wine!
That looks like a happy little house.....nice to have the visual memory. Good luck with your new housing endeavors.......my daughter has just moved into a house that needs a huge amount of TLC.......so has been a stressful time for her too!
I can so relate to your final statement - "advanced state of fatigue" _ I feel like that now but have 4 days left to get out out of here!!! The removalist come tomorrow for the furniture - it's just total chaos at the moment!!! Great photo to - I must try to remember to take one :)
@gilbertwood Yes, it would have been awfully easy not to do it ... it felt like an awful effort at the time, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't!!! Good luck with the remaining days before your move. Where are you moving to?
Your daughter is brilliant! What a wonderful idea to save for the memory book! The picture is darling...You'll look back on this over the years to come!
