A rainy day has allowed me to get my wellies on and pose in our back garden with my new rain gear! The camera was set up on the tripod, safely in the shelter of the kitchen.
My jacket was a birthday gift from my daughter in June - she works for Helly Hansen in Norway. It's a beauty and I just know I'll get plenty good use out of it in Scotland! The super-sized 'shepherd's umbrella' is hand-made in Pau in the south of France, where we lived a few years back and where Total has offices. It was one of several retirement gifts to hubby. Pau, like Scotland, is rainy, and these hand made brollies are a popular gift. I already have two, very different styles, from our stay there. Hand-made brollies are few and far between, and so are to be treasured.
Welcome "back home" to you, Issi! Was all the remodeling completed? The garden is gorgeous! And YOU! How adorable is this photo! The outfit and umbrella are marvelous, and your gorgeous, smiling face is prettiest part of this lovely photo!
What an amazing garden to have. Decent umbrellas are not that easy to get hold of here, despite the fact that they are needed. And I have never heard of handmade ones. The ones we get are not very strong and tend to flip inside out in a breeze let alone the strong winter winds that we get.
@Weezilou Why thank you Louise! Eh, no, we're not quite complete yet! Inside we're at 95% though - just a small snagging list to go through. But we're in and have moved mountains over the past three weeks, sorting out the mess, finding space for new stuff arriving, buying new stuff (of course ...) and cleaning. Oh, cleaning! Plaster dust permeates everywhere! But, very happy to be back. The outside area has a lot still to be done, and until that's finished there'll be more dust, so trying not to be too manic. And of course the workmen have gone on holiday now! But next week we should see some movement again, and we live in hope of having steps down from our kitchen into the garden and a patio for sitting out on VERY soon! Thanks for asking! xx
