So, yesterday morning's drama was that a blue tit flew into the greenhouse. He didn't sit still for long as he was a bit uneasy about being in a confined space, but just long enough for a few photos. We then helped him to find his own way out - through the open door! The same way as he probably got in!
Whilst birds seem to fly with abandon, they clearly have as an agenda which serves their purpose...until a greenhouse with the door open is too big an invitation to be ignored. Delighted to see he discovered the 'Open Sesame' exit...and recovered his sangfroid ;-)
Beautiful 😊
Curious little birds....we have some nesting in a bird box on our fence. Fascinating to watch...
..hope they survive, there's a ginger cat prowling around. Not sure where it belongs....
Panic stations....sometimes you do wonder how they manage to find entrances to places they should avoid! Glad he got out unscathed & you got some great shots!
Glass can be very deceiving to a bird. They don't see it as a barrier like we do. So he probably thought there was a free passage from one end of the greenhouse to the other. We have birds flying into our cathedral ceiling windows all the time. Most of them just stun themselves- but I always feel so bad for the ones that were going too fast. Glad this fellow had two nice humans to help him out! Good shot!
Greatly captured detail. Our back bedroom window is a magnet to the birds, they're forever flying into it. They also leave great oily traces, and sometime bits of feathers too on the glass. One good thing though, I've only ever found one that died as a result of hiring the glass.
