There was a brief lull in the rain yesterday afternoon, so we hopped on our mountain bikes to cycle up to the Linn O' Muick to see how this river (a tributary of the main river Dee) was faring. There is a fish ladder there, so hubby is always intrigued to see the water conditions there when the river is on the rise. The power in that water is quite incredible. We stood and watched for ages. To give you an idea of the water height, in summer we usually sit on the rock in the middle for a coffee or picnic lunch!
I'm happy to report that the river Dee did not burst its banks yesterday and the water level has dropped significantly. Just as well, as guess what? It's raining again today!
The fact you've sat on that middle rock tells just how different the action is after all the rain. Beautiful place, even with a raging river run through it.
