As we wandered around Balmoral Estate on Wednesday we saw lots of the Royal horses in their fields and shelters. Most of them are used for work on the Estate, but seemingly the Queen shows a lot of interest in the horses when she's at Balmoral, and they breed them there too.
For me, l'm always impressed by how much QE2 does with her dogs and horses...an endearing quality. This shaggy horse, bashfully peeping, reminds me of our younger teenage granddaughter. It's her hair veiling her eyes, searching for herself.
What a fab close up. Love the the Queen is so fond of horses and such an excellent horsewoman herself too. A proud tradition.
Here's a weird bit of trivia for you. My hubby's cousin is married to the Queen's groom and regularly rides with her. Love seeing photos of him in the press out there. Great sense of humour, as indeed She has too. Only ever met him once - immaculately turned out!
