This branch, and possibly this pigeon, has definitely appeared on my 365 page before. It sits high on our Douglas Fir in the back garden, and the backdrop is the local Craigendarroch hill. I took the photo from our bedroom window. There's always a bird or two sitting on this branch, and I wish the pigeons would stay up there instead of coming closer to our house and leaving a trail of pigeon poo for us to stand in and trail into the house. They are seriously messy birds! Better on black.
I remember him and he makes a lovely photo! I agree about the mess - ours like to fill the back doormat with poo. I’ve chosen the word ‘fill’ with care as it is deep!
These scene from your bedroom window makes me long to be back on the island. I guess I’m bored with buildings! It’s a lovely composition, with a strong sense of the contrast between the clear bird and the ominous clouds overhead.
The pigeon looks like he has a massive spread of amazing full size wings! He’s definitely punching above his weight on that branch! Amazing number of fir cones!
