The long dark nights and colder days fairly make you rethink what you do and when you do it. Yesterday was a cookie baking day, and I tried out a recipe from Ottolenghi's new cook book. Big success; they are delicious. I didn't have oat bran, so just increased the amount of flour and oat flakes to make up for it. So, we have our snack for the hill today - we are planning a trip up Lochnagar with friends. We didn't choose the day. It's wet right now and likely to be snowy and very windy at the top. We usually avoid days like that. Ah well, the price of sociability! Let's hope the weather turns out better than the forecast, and that the banter is worth it. ;-)
They look and sound delicious! Have a safe day out with your friends! Hope the weather is kind to you! It sounds wet and cold so you will need your treats for energy!
These look lovely and very much like ANZAC biscuits that were sent to the soldiers in WW2. They have rolled oats butter golden syrup etc in them. A lovely photo. I hope your road trip went ok.
@dide@julzmaioro@happysnaps@terryliv@terryliv@leggzy@kjarn Loving all your ANZAC cookie comments ... when I took them out on the hill it was the first thing my friend said ... oh these are like ANZAC cookies! So I guess they were like ANZAC cookies. Delicious anyway! :-)
@brigette I do ... and I just bought the new book ... Shelf Love. I'm liking it so far, although I accidentally bought it in French! So that makes it even more fun using it!!!
