This is a cross section of the very many tree trunks lying around our countryside at the moment, from storm-damaged trees made safe. It is always fascinating to look at the circles of the life of a tree, and in this case, you can also see the marks made by the chain saw when cutting through the trunk.
I wonder how many of us tried to count the rings? That is a mature tree but it seems sad but as long as they are replanting, trees are a crop too & we need cut wood for building etc. Ah just read storm damage……the same down here too.
