Yesterday morning's task was to deliver our local Eagle to residents in our delivery zone. We do this every 3 months or so, and it's not too onerous, with only about 80 magazines to deliver. It teaches you things though - we have found houses we never knew existed (lots of split feus in our village), houses with no letter boxes, houses with big barking dogs, and letter boxes that snap the fingers off you! You may notice that the front image is the Living Willow Crown that I posted a few weeks back (not my photo, I hasten to add), and inside hubby gets 3 mentions (for path rebuilding, flood group, and litter picking). All good community stuff. :-)
And we're off again to the hills with a great weather forecast. Fingers crossed it doesn't change. We have a tricky one tomorrow - the Aonach Eagach Ridge.
.What a great thing to do and you will be getting to know your local area.
My neighbour who is English is make a living willow fence, something that is not really done here so looking on with interest..
That sounds as if every little community could use one of those. I can't wait to see the crown take shape and grow. Crossing fingers for your outing tomorrow :-)
Well done you both.....before the last election we delivered leaflets around two local estates.......and you are right.....we discovered areas we had never heard of (and we have lived here over 20 years)........and those letter boxes.................:)
You are in colour!! Our monthly free magazine is only in black & white! I must say yours is very attractive! Harry delivers 120 but only around 50 to houses! Three lots go to caravan parks so left in the boxes. I agree with the letter boxes, High & low & bitey! We get a free place at the Burns night celebrations alternate years.
