A wee candid of our daughter, sitting on her bedroom floor, preparing the dry bags of clothing and kit for her forthcoming Clipper Race. She leaves us on Monday morning. If all goes well, we’ll next see her in Cape Town in November. She’s feeling a little nervous, but so are we!
The around the world one? That's impressive! Which boat is she on? My husband and I circumnavigated in a 40 footer, our son in a 34 footer and our grandson has crossed the Atlantic in one of the 70 ft racing boats. I wish her good sailing and good luck. What an adventure.
What an experience for her to have! I hope you'll keep us posted once in a while -- living vicariously through your daughter. And, a good composition as well
@jeneurell Yes, but she's only doing two legs. Portsmouth to Punta del Este, and then onwards to Cape Town. She's on the Qingdao Boat. Your family sailing adventures sound amazing!
@blueberry1222 She's doing the Clipper Round the World Race, on a 70 foot yacht with 20 crew including a professional skipper and AQP. The rest have differing levels of sailing experience. She's only doing two legs though - Portsmouth to Cape Town. She has very little sailing experience, other that the obligatory training courses, so it will be quite the experience for her!
What a great experience- i guess she gets that drive for adventure from her munro climbing parents! God's speed to her and may the wind always be at her back and in the sails! I love the feel of this shot in black and white.
You are all adventurous.........
