As if the spilled cup of coffee wasn't enough of a rough start to the day, the power went out just in time to prevent a thorough clean-up and a freshly brewed cup; so I put Gracie in the car for a drive to the nearby McDonald's where piping hot coffee always awaits. The drive's a local favorite of mine, especially in the morning when the hills off to the east wake from their sleepy darkness in front of the rising sun. This turkey in a roadside field surprised me as I eagerly anticipated the view of those hills, and I couldn't help but pull over and enjoy watching it so peacefully eat what the field had to offer — while the day's rough start quickly became a distant memory.
I praise you, Lord, that there's always a bright side.
Wonderfully enjoyed shot - and the writing with it. What a world this would be if more people would take that small stop to breathe and enjoy the simple beauties are around us and be refreshed by them. You have such a marvelous attitude toward life.
