Outside this morning with Gracie, I noticed the unusual, fluffy nature of the overnight snowfall on the deck post caps. Rather than nestling together to create a somewhat smooth surface, the snowflakes stacked up loosely creating gaps and little peaks. An early meeting meant I needed to move along, but how could I? Against my better judgment, I ran for the camera, popped on the 105mm lens, rested my elbows on the deck rails, and clicked the shutter button. No good. I ran for the tripod, slid the camera onto the bracket, adjusted the height, and clicked the shutter button. Good enough.
I praise you, Lord, for this wonderful memory of the unusual, fluffy snow — and for my being on time for my meeting.
Ah … the lure of the photograph seen but not yet captured. Impressed that you managed all that and still got to your meeting on time. Your judgement was good. Lovely that you got your fluffy snow in the end too. Gorgeous snowflakes captured.
