Glorious golden sunshine stopped me as I headed out for a walk this morning. I got no further than the Star Magnolia just a few steps from the front door. I squeezed between branches to shoot into the sun in an attempt to capture a sunburst among the Star's blossoms; and then I emerged, lowered my f-stop, turned, and focused in an attempt to create some blossom bokeh against the brilliant blue sky.
Turning yet again, I focused on this flower; and Sarah immediately came to mind. Just yesterday, she expressed her love of including man-made structures in her nature shots! Inspired, I spent the rest of my time composing from this angle, crouching low and standing on tip-toes to include various parts of our home in the frame. This one proved to be my favorite shot of the day as it depicts the view of one approaching our front door — having to peer through the pretty Star.
I praise you, Lord, for Sarah's newfound love of photography and the pleasant moments we spend discussing it.
Such a delight to read your words and share in this moment as you work to capture the beauty that you see. But so very exciting for you to have Sarah share your love of photography with you. You are truly blessed in so many ways.
How great it is that you are able to share your passion for photography with your daughter. I love the way you describe your photographic ventures which are always so purposeful. Perhaps you would make a good photography teacher. I could learn a lot!
