Today's scrubbing in the library marked the end of spring cleaning, and it feels so good to have all that work done. Baby bonnets and shoes, framed photos, our wedding album, my collection of bookmarks, travel mementos, and many more treasures share space on the deep wood shelves with years upon years of photo albums and favorite books. With so many family treasures and books displayed, how could I choose just one to photograph? I couldn't, so I chose the rolling ladder. I love its old-fashioned charm, and here it rests just beside a door to the upper porch.
The library brings us much joy! With a book in hand, we can rest on a nearby chair or have a seat on the upper porch where the sound of the waterfall down below can be enjoyed and Canada Geese often honk their way past. I spend countless hours comfortably cross-stitching in the peace of the pleasant library, and giving this room my full attention today made me appreciate it all the more.
A house without books is like a room without windows.

I praise you, Lord, for our library filled with family treasures, favorite books, and peace.
Yippee! That's got to be a wonderful feeling. And you've taken the time to look back and enjoy so many of collected pieces - that's got to be added pleasure.
This photo melted my heart, it is gorgeous. As a child my Dad had his own 'Library' full of wonderful books. This reminded me of him and the many hours we spent in together. He died many years ago now, but I cherish these memories and the love of books he passed on to me. Thank you for refreshing my memory and I am so pleased you have finished spring cleaning your house. This has been a lovely journey to follow and the glimpse into your home and heart is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on reaching the end. I hope you put your feet up with a good book after all that cleaning. How fabulous to have your own library full of treasures and trinkets and adventures yet to come.
