For the first time I've seen a Common Blue on the Fulford side of the river near the Millennium Bridge on the land now known as Millennum Fields. The cutter man is less enthusiastic, larger areas are allowed to grow as they wish and St Nicks nature reserve has become involved planting invertebrate friendly grasses and flowers. Common Blue needs Birdsfoot Trefoil, there is some and here's the result. A VERY excited old lady came home today, almost as excited as when she saw only the 2nd Marbled White in 45 years on this field.
