Light House On Foggy Morning

I sure wish I'd been able to capture the rays bouncing off the fog. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. Maybe the fog had lifted a tad bit too much. My friend that I was shooting with got the rays though. Any suggestions? I'll be going back on another foggy morning for sure.

This is a lovely lighthouse! Did you try other spots to try for the rays?

I did some checking, I just had a shot I took sunday morning and got a sun burst. You had your aperture at f22 mine for my shot was f11 . I'm just thinking it was your angle to the light. Hmmm I hope someone gives you some ideas. I would love to know why you didn't get any rays.
