Nigella by jgpittenger

Nigella

Another from my series of shots from hikes. I was hiking in Eugene with my friend and enjoying all the beautiful plantings. My daughter’s name is Niguelle so the nigella plant catches my attention.
My computer is driving me crazy. I will visit and comment on your photos when things settle down. So sorry
What an unusual looking plant - and I do agree - there's NOTHING more aggravating than a computer that is acting up!

Such a surprising plant -- does it have anything to do with the nigella seeds? I'm so sorry your computer is driving you crazy. Me? I baked your bread again today but with a twist on the process :) Such a good recipe.

Beautiful shot of this unusual plant. We have a similar plant here called balloon milkweed. Re your bread, I am starting today and hoping for the best ;-)

@charmainezoe well, Given my daughter was raised inOregon where we have lots of mist and she is dearly loved...maybe Niguelle (her name) really means love in a mist!

Beautifully captured, lovely focus on the seed head and the bokeh flowers give context.

This is so unusual! And great focus work.

Those lower "leaves" look to be quite the "defense system". I wonder if when the plant dries in the fall that those parts become prickly.
