Those who have followed me for a while have seen this wonderful trail through cedars before. I haven’t been on it since last April. First there were ticks...last time we were there Black Pearl, Jim and I came back with 25 of them between us!!! And then there were ground hornets so that clearing the trail would have led to unearthing a nest and getting stung big time. But yesterday we carved our path back up to the horse trails behind our house and were finally able to hike here again. I am rejoicing...perhaps a necessary balance to my grief about Ruth Badger Ginsberg’s death.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and delightful response to yesterday’s approaching rainstorm photo
A testament to patience, for you to wait while all the critters had their time on the trail. It is beautiful. We owe so much to Justice Ginsberg, she was a great woman and jurist.
A beautiful place to walk and contemplate (without the assorted hazards). I was very sad to read of the passing of RBG, such a beacon of hope and legend of liberal democratic justice.
What an awesome looking trail - glad you were able to get away there. Seems a fitting place to think about Justice Ginsberg - one that I fear won't be replaced with near the compassion and wisdom.
Wonderful vertical lines in the trees as well as the leading line of the path. Glad you were able to get out in nature... with your camera! Thanks for sharing so many wonderful photographs for us to enjoy!
The path along the slanted hillside looks very inviting. I know you are glad to be able to hike along not picking up any critters that tag along unknowingly.
That is an astonishing number of ticks....quite a hunt then when you got home! Good that you can walk this way again, good work. So sorry bout your wonderful trailblazing woman, she sounds a brave intelligent pioneer for women.
Such a depressing 24 hours -- I spent half the day near tears.
