Western Sandpiper Stepping Out

We've been walking VERY early in the morning to miss the heat that we are having even on the coast (97 degrees F for two days and now 88). I know we have no grounds to complain given how hot others have it, but we sure aren't used to it. we saw this single sandpiper on the beach this morning.
