Lemon Tree Very Pretty and the Lemon Flower is Sweet
We have been growing a Meyer Lemon "tree" in our house for several years. It finally had its first flower. My husband "fertilized" it, so maybe we'll get a lemon. I'm not holding my breath but it sure would be wonderful if we did. We had our photo club banquet last night and one of the pros in the group spoke of how overdone flower photos are. It made me realize how as still a beginner, I still really enjoy shooting them. I felt a tiny bit put down by his comment- though it wasn't directed at me and he really is a kind man.
Lemon flower; nice! Great DoF
Don't let "the pros" bring you down. If you've read any of the discussion topics on here, you'll see that some of them are very critical about what's "overdone" or what the "hate" (which described basically most of my pics). What people are missing the point of is that photography is like any other art form: beauty is in the eye of the beholder! What's new to us is old and "overdone" to them. The great thing is that if they don't like pics of flowers, they don't need to LOOK at them! If you like them, shoot them. Don't let the overly-critical critics affect what you want to shoot.
I hope to see a pic of a lemon in a few months! =-)
