Rock Roots At Zabriski Point

Another shot from Death Valley. I like how these look so much like the roots of the tree I shot in Hawaii recently even though these are actually rock formations.
Thanks for the visits, comments, favs, on yesterday's shots
Cool shot

Hard to get the scale but these look amazing. Are they paths along the top?

I thought it was rippled sand from the thumbnail! I remember the tree and see what you mean! Great how the shadows give more depth to the indents.

@fueast What an interesting observation. Wish there had been something to include in the shot that would give more size perception. No paths. The width across the top edge is probably 4-5"

Oh! I thought they were rocks and looked like roots not roots that look like rocks! Anyway, interesting.

@fueast They are rocks that look like roots

@fueast The length of one of the individual rootlike lines is probably 8-10'

This is a wonderful shot of the patterns of nature. I am completely surprised at the scale. It could be a shot of a mountain range!

I see exactly what you mean, this is quite similar to the roots of the Hawaiian tree (Banyan?). I thought these were badland hills too, not baby ridges. Fabulous texture and light regardless of its real life size!

Great use of your telephoto to isolate the formations. There is a bit of mystery here because there is little to give the viewer any idea of the size of the formations.

Beautiful texture and light. At first I thought they were sand ripples.
