For my mentoring group's natural light b and w. I went back to another shot that I thought might work in b and w. Boy, the structure slider in Silver Efex sure can make for haloing. I got it where I thought I liked it and then when I posted it I saw the haloing around the grasses on right. Still learning for sure!
This is a great conversion Jane!! I love the textures it has brought out and the wonderful sky!! Love it!! Fav! I think with all these editing tools you have to have a very light hand!!
Jane, I love the level of contrasts you chose here and the way you used structure. The soft monochrome is really effective. I see the haloing -- frustrating, but it doesn't bother me in terms of image quality.
Like Rachel, the haloing doesn't fuss me at all. I like this image very much, particularly the way my eye is drawn to the little pathway and thence into the distance. Love the textures in the grasses.
