In a brief lull between rain storms, I popped out the door to catch this amazing fungus. It was 3" off the ground and I had my tripod flat out and me on my belly hoping I'd be able to get up again and getting soaked through. I took shots for focus stacking...about 7 of them, but when I put them together afterwards, there were so many planes to focus on I would have needed at least 20 to get it all in focus. So here is a cropped version of one plane. Oh, and I did manage to get back up off the ground!
Thanks so much for your fun response to yesterday's water and oil shot and for your visits, friendship, comments, suggestions, favs
This is quite fantastic! An entire fungi world in a little droplet, and even enlarged, it's quite clear. The background blur with the sharp droplet vision is a great combination! I'm laughing picturing you lying on the wet ground with your camera between major storms, though I know I should NOT be laughing at all but instead be sympathetic. Of course, I'm inspired that you would take the risk to get down there knowing rain could come and you'd have to rise quickly!
Wow, wotta bokeh! There's an amazing optical illusion in this photo too, try gazing at the lower right quadrant, the dark spots seem to wax and wane. Like Taffy, I had a good laugh at the thought of you down there in the mud and slush. You must be a great deal more agile than I am these days, getting down on the ground is OK, if clumsy, but getting up again is another story altogether,my various leg problems combine to make it quite an awkward (funny) drama.
