I went with my nephew over to Milton Three ponds today to see a gathering of homeschooling his son belongs to. We were early so we went to find some pictures. It was raining lightly and temps were above freezing so some serious melting going on. This is water coming out of the dam.
This is a great shot - the beginning of the arrival of spring...the early melt. One can just imagine how this will become when all that snow melts. Beautiful texture in the trees.
I assume this was frozen before Joan so it definitely looks as though your wishes will soon come true. Will the river burst it's banks as the thaw builds up?
@vignouse Very likely that will happen this year. This is New Hampshire and I can't say I have ever been over there in that area during a flooding period. Maybe I would go back if that happened.
@joansmor If it's not too far, it would certainly make a good photo opportunity. I forgot to say that I really like this image - it has a bleak wintry feel about it.
