My challenge this weeks get pushed was - 1. Take a landscape photo with no visible horizon. This kind of thing https://www.flickr.com/photos/9534279@N05/6370887075
Or take a landscape photo with strong leading lines which are natural rather than manmade - so not a road or path.
I immediately thought of a river and I have taken many pictures of the Mousam. But with snow and ice on the side of the road I couldn't find any good spots to get my car oft the road to take such a pictures. And the no horizon was interesting but none of mine really worked. So this morning I decide to go up to Springvale. I saw all the cars parked for church and it gave me the idea that I could park there too. Right on the overpass over the river. I took several shots from different angles and thought this one I liked best. Because the reflection of the trees on one side and the grasses in the water on the other formed nice sides for my leading line. Not sure if I should have removed that one reflection just before the water heads over the weir. Then of course I had to play in Silver Efex. Hope Rachael likes it.
Joan, this is really intriguing in the way the horizon is masked. And the reflections add to the mixed messages about horizon in the scene. Very creative! And thanks for asking if I've destressed...am home after a really great leadership team meeting -- very proud of the next generation in our team! Time to zone out for the rest of the night!
