I read a news article that the local residents of McDougall Street, Kirribilli, a Sydney Harbour suburb, had lodged complaints that too many visitors were visiting their street and the adjacent small park to photograph the flowering jacaranda trees.
What to do? Of course i just had to visit their beautiful street today!!!
It was a beautiful day. I even chatted to the Mayor of North Sydney who was visiting her troubled constituents. She said that she didn’t really see the issue. It was just another beautiful day.
I saw on the news last night that some of the concerns were that people were standing and even lying in the middle of the road for photographs - as can be seen here haha - drivers and pedestrians just need to be aware and act safely
I live in a very rural area. Lots of farms and an Amish community. About 5 years or so a family bought a farm and turned it into a wedding reception/Autumn outdoor activities center. They turned the barn into a wedding reception facility. In the Fall people come to go through their corn maze, launch pumpkins or apple, enjoy pig races, hayrides, and other fun activities.
While there is more noise than normal, the biggest problem is how people drive. The roads are narrower than in town as there are no berms, but city folk drive like they are in town, or faster than they should. I am sure that isn't the reason people are complaining there, but just having a higher influx of traffic could cause some concern amoung the residents.
Nice timing on the photo. Totally has an air of mystery about it. It is rather uncomfortable to see someone lying in the street. I can certainly see why they visit the jacaranda blooming....like daffodil hill in our area.
Fabulous street scene and great shot of the beautiful Jacarandas. Our capitol Pretoria and the Jacarada capital of SA, they even have tours going through the neighbourhoods. Photographers from all over go there.

Yep. There were cars going up and down all the time. The girl posing in the middle of the street had to move several times.
I do have sympathy for the local residents. But it’s only for a few weeks a year.
She doesn’t look to comfortable. Thanks for the comments.
Thanks. It was a fun day for me.
No traffic accident but there could have been!!! Thanks for the comments.
