PMAE No 59

Caught stars but realized that I should have used a graduated ND filter to compensate for the bright lights, especially the pumpkin on the stoop and whatever that bothersome light is on the lower left window. Gotta learn by doing so that it becomes part of me. Also focusing in the dark is a huge challenge.
The stars are splendid! I only managed 1! Agree 100%...focusing in the dark is well nigh imposssible.

You did a great job in a great learning experience! And YES! You got the stars!

@s4sayer I'm not sure how the pros do it, maybe multiple cameras and those helpful assistants that I've not found yet-of course they'd have to work for free :):) Very grateful for the fav, thank you kindly.

@shesnapped Thank you so very much for the fav. I told myself that I wanted to 'stay dark' this year but there are times when only color really works. Flagstaff has wonderful stars, maybe its the 7000 feet or that there is an effort to tame the lights at night.

@megpicatilly @cjphoto @gardenfolk Thank you so very much. Flagstaff is a 'Dark Skies City'. I admit to being spoiled by how many we can see even in town.
