Ruakuri Cave in Waitomo

This was such an impressive cave to tour! You begin by walking down a long, spiral walkway and then follow the long tunnel into various parts of the cave. There are the typical stalagmites and stalactites but also flowing, curtain like formations as well. The glowworms were fascinating florescent dots overhead in the dark rooms. A river below had blackwater rafting options for those who were willing to don wetsuits. I'm pleased with how my new camera did in this very dark cave.
You captured this so well with the way you used lighting to bring out the depth of the formations.

@taffy Thanks! I took many photos, but this one, stepping back to include the dark framing, seemed to show the depth the best.

@taffy -- and it was also using my favorite lens ever since I switched to the full frame. That 50mm was hardly ever on my cropped sensor camera but now I love it.

@jyokota My 50 won't work on my new camera body and I'm so frustrated. Called the store and they can't figure out over the phone why not. So, no 50 til the end of next month! I'm so impressed with this shot it's making me more upset!!
