I worked my entire career with books -- teacher, librarian, professor of children's literature. When I was with my friend this past weekend, I saw some bookmarks and was inspired to create a series of bookmarks as gifts to give when I resume traveling for work again.

Thank you all for your generous feedback. This is a new thing I'm trying so I'm still at the stage of cropping and saving a file of a few to prepare to print. I will use a printing company because there are many that print bookmarks. I'm hoping I can find a company that also laminates or does something to make it a little stiffer than simply printed paper. You'll see me posting my various attempts and asking for feedback on framing because it's so different in proportion than usual photography. This flying swallow is one of my favorite photos ever so I'm happy it's also my first bookmark design. Thanks again!
A beautiful first one. I used to make them. I liked using glossy card stock and would laminate them. Paperdirect.com was one source of paper that I used. Hope you have fun making them
A wonderful composition. This is such a great idea, and I may try some for myself. I am an avid reader especially of nature books, so it would be most appropriate.
