UFO: Unfinished Object

Another attempt at trying high ISO challenge, and at portraying a "this is me" image. I had gone to the attic (darkish) to try to high iso, and because that room is "all about me" in the sense that it's my hobby room: quilting, knitting, photography, reading, music, etc.

In the past, I have presented photographs of finished quilts I have made. The reality of the "this is me" is that I have more unfinished than I do finished. This is one such example, showing some sewn pieces pinned onto my design board with other pieces that are not yet sewn together. The problem is that since I started this quilt years ago, my color palette preferences and my design style has changed and the motivation to finish is really low. Will it stay unfinished, occupying space on a design wall in my attic? If you look closely, you can see the white pinheads, the white space behind the pieces to show the board, and the differences between sewn/unsewn parts.

(I've uploaded this twice and the orange shows up very brown on the site!)
It looks so beautiful, even if it's unfinished - so intricate. I like the way you've presented the different quarters. Clever photography and quilting!

Your color palette works well for autumn and the pattern is eye-catching even if it's not finished. Thanks for sharing your UFO. Maybe you could opt for a wall hanging!

Love your colors. Are they all Batik prints?

@dolphin -- thanks for noticing the intricacy . . . it's a very time consuming process. First, you select an array of colors that flow well, then you cut inch wide strips and sew them together. Then you use a template and cut out the circles and arcs. Then you have to match seams while sewing a curved line!
@genealogygenie -- I think you may be right -- a wall hanging may be a more manageable way to finish this UFO!
@bonniemiles I've used many batiks here, but also a few others to fill in the color flow.

Thank you for viewing and commenting -- this has been a long-ongoing project!
