This old abandon homesite in Terlingua, Texas was interesting to explore with its retro trailer and old Plymouth up on blocks. We were staying at a campground not far from this location while at our photo workshop in the Big Bend area.
Great atmosphere in this picture. This is the place of the annual chili cook off, isn't it ? I remember this place, because I broke my glasses there, and I had no spare for the rest of the trip except my sunglasses. This was ok during daytime but not ok at all at night.
@etienne I didn’t know anything about the chili cook off and after reading your comment I did a little research. The chili cook off location is held at Rancho CASI de los Chisos on the other side of Terlingua and is an international event. The location of this abandoned trailer is off of School Road in Terlingua. I can’t imagine trying to function without glasses... that must have been difficult and needless to say there would be nowhere close to have a repair or replacement done. It is a very isolated area.
@etienne !!! I can't imagine. I only see out of one eye so I am neurotic about carrying multiple extras. Even sitting here at my desk I have three extra pairs in front of me because each one is a little different in how it lets me see. I'm glad you had your sunglasses with you for daytime!
