Two copies of my 2015 photo book arrived yesterday. I display one copy and store the other. I have two kids so I figure they can each have a book when I'm old an senile. I live all year for this moment! I urge you all to start your book NOW and build it throughout the year. You'll be so happy you did it bit by bit and then you have a masterpiece when you're finished. This books acts like our family journey with trips, birthdays and significant events documented throughout the year. I'm done smaller books on trips as well. This link will show you the complete book: https://www.mypublisher.com/index/?e=OHm3Q8zJl3Sm_QaWTUVupQ5zN2UJRZIa&showForm=true
What a fun night last night must have been looking through your newest book. I do this, too, but since my shots are only nature shots, it's a little different - I like the history of the year with your family this gives you (it's just my husband and I now). Got mine from 2015 shortly after the 1st - my best friend knows now what to get me for my birthday each fall - a gift certificate towards my yearly book. Your shots are beautiful against black (love that, too).
Lovely shot and you photo book looks great. I keep wanting to do that with my current year on 365. I did make one for my first two years and I'm glad I did that.
Lovely shot and a super memory. My daughter made a photo book for my first year on 365 and I completed one for my second year and I am now almost at the end of putting together my third year photo book. This is one of my current projects on the go, so almost finished this project.
What a great idea. My daughter did a book of her 1st year 365 photos. (Didn't the other two for some reason.) I'd love to, but my narratives for my shots are too long for the book, and I'd want them in it with the photos! What to do then???
Oooh it looks so pretty. I never have tried the black background but I should. I see you've got lay flat pages and super gloss printing too! Very nice. I haven't done mine yet but I have for the last 5 years. I usually do about 3-4 photobooks a year now, I'm a bookaholic ;)
Such a great way to preserve and share your photos! I sometimes do travel books but I hadn't thought about doing one with 365 shots! May have to consider it for this new year.
@aurorajane The company is called MY PUBLISHER. It's out of New York. You download their free software and then just build the book over time. When you're done you upload it to them and they UPS it back to you in about a week.
I admire your discipline for getting this ready all year. I've been meaning to do this since 2013! I like the setup here -- makes for a nice still life.
What a great idea and I'm now interested, the only problem is that I'm already old and senile. Thank you for all you comments on my photographs, I must therefore follow you and hope you can reciprocate, I'm sure I can put a smile in your day now and then.
A very nice way to keep track of your pictures. I used to keep albums where I stored all my pictures. Nowadays all I have are on the pc and some on cd.
A thing I would love to do too but it's not so much the pictures I would like to keep but the words. I use my project as a diary so without the words fir me it's just a picture book. Your photos are stunning so the photos are very important.
@soboy5 It took hours over the course of the year. It would be completely overwhelming if I tried to do it at the end if the year in a day or two. Instead I start the it early in January. We went tubing on jan. 2nd so the next day I spent 15-20 minutes laying out two pages to mark that event. I haven't looked at it since. Then when something interesting happens again I'll do the same. I like to do it right away so I know which photos are the best and I have the details still in my brain. I often include a caption with info for future reference. The my publisher program is user friendly.
@happypat You can include words if you want. When we went to Europe I kept a journal on my iPad. Then once home I cut and paste it into my photo book. The books can be as large as 100 pages.
What fantastic idea. I do books for trips, but never considered doing a yearly one. I may have to do on this year. It wouldn't be so daunting if it was done a little at a time.
They look wonderful Kim, very well done. We do one every year with our various holiday images but really need to go back and do another of non-holiday shots.
You are amazingly organized to be able to collect as you go to have a coherent flashback of the year. It is so invaluable and what a treasure to give your children! thanks for the link. i thoroughly enjoyed that.
Such a great idea I have done a couple of photo books but they don't look as good as this. I did try to look at them with the link yesterday but couldn't find them.
They look great - very professional! Lovely to pass on to the children - a family heirloom of the future.
I have a fancy to put some of my work under glass on our little side tables (we have them instead of a central coffee table).
I used to do this with photo scrapbooking but haven't in a long while. I'll have to look into that site you recommended. If I do it month by month, I'd probably enjoy it again! Your book looks lovely.
wonderful books! They take up so much less space than a big photo album. And they so nice. I did make one of some of my nature shots. So, you just start working on it, at the beginning of the year, and then order at the end of the year? So it's a work in progress all year?
