Ready for a Harsh Winter. by ladymagpie

Ready for a Harsh Winter.

Coming back from shopping yesterday afternoon I stopped to take a couple of pictures about 1/2 a mile from home. I knew the local farmers have been very busy harvesting a few weeks ago and it looks like they have stocked up well with rolls of hay ready if we have a harsh winter.

In my childhood days it was always bales of hay and we used to have great fun playing in the hay stacks or the farmers barns.Today we have these huge rolls that resemble very large Shredded Wheat (Breakfast Cereal), and everyone is warned not to get close in case they roll. A few people have been killed by the weight of these monsters.

I'm sure the cattle don't care whether come square or round. Will catch up with your wonderful captures after I have updated my football websites.
love this Fav if the winter is bad I can bale u out Lol

@philcameron59 @carolmw @thresheg @ziggy77 @rosiekind @rubicon @wordpixman @shepherdmanswife @gilbertwood @linnypinny @khawbecker Thank you all for stopping by and giving me some lovely comments and fav's.

I'm going to have a moan again, you from above are an exception, I spend up to an hour viewing all the people I follow pictures, I will always comment and where possible be very possitive. I sometimes wonder why I bother especially with those who can't be bothered to look at others or even acknowledge your view or comment. It may be they have to many on their lists, well that is just a silly mistake.

Rant over, I have made many friends on 365, so you above and a few others are worth continuing with. thanks for reading from MRS. GRUMPY.

Thanks for the rant, Heather. It saved a lot of us from having to say it but it serves to remind us that we don't all think or see things in the same way, and the pleasure of creating the image is in the long run more important than the number of comments it receives - although they do help.

@ladymagpie I know that you have put me as one of your exceptions Heather, but I just don't have time to acknowledge other peoples comments on mine. I have a full time job and am really tired when I get home. I try to look at the pics from people I follow, and will briefly comment or fav. I know that I miss lots of people, but I follow too many, but can't reduce them because they are all so good. It doesn't mean that I don't appreciate everyone's views, comments and favs, but it is just a matter of having the time to do so. Personally, I would prefer that people do not acknowledge my comments as it gives me more to go through. I do read everything that comes in to me and will try to reply to specific questions.
So don't take it too personally, a lot of us just don't have enough hours in the day or days in the week!

Lovely shot, Heather. I really like the rounded feel of the building and hay rounds. Of course, the scenery is always stunning. Fav. Hope you consider me an exception albeit late today. :)

There's something about these rolls of hay that I really like. I also was used to bales. Didn't see them like this until as an adult, I visited Oregon. This is a great shot and a beautiful landscape scene behind the rolls. fav
