The Old Mill through the Arch. by ladymagpie

The Old Mill through the Arch.

I've been planning this picture for some months but I knew it was beside a very busy road that I had to park on and try and cross to this old railway arch. Several people have been killed along this stretch of road, mainly due car crashes, and I knew I had to be quick, which this days is not really in my vocabulary. I managed to park just off the road and sprinted across, OK it was more of a quick march.

This is the old Ebley Cloth Mill, now the local council offices, see the picture:

I wondered what it would look like from under this disused railway arch, no trains since 1963 and now a cycle track. After a few captures, whilst stood in cow manure which might make me grow, I now have to get back across this busy main road. There is never one of those school lolly-pop lady handy when you need one to help me back across the highway.
Such a well composed capture and, as always, enjoyed the story behind this photo! Glad to know you made it safely across the road!
