I seem to be favouring the birds at the moment, ducks, seagulls and swans have attracted my camera. So what about the humble pigeon that many can't stand. Yes they are scavengers, but they seem to have a real character all of their own giving me the option of interesting captions..
I visited my youngest Son and Daughter-in Law yesterday morning for a quick cuppa and a chat.Knowing they had a bird tree, (present from yours truly), I took my camera along as well. I think that might be a pointless comment, as it goes everywhere with me.
Unfortunately there were not many small birds around, but this pigeon was trying to work out how to jump on the feeders. It didn't have a hope of making it and would have looked similar to me trying to swing on a matchstick trapeze.
From your lovely picture I can see the beautiful colours of this bird and its character. So often they are just seen as pests, but you show it in a different light.
Great capture and wonderful perspective. I really like pigeons. They just trundle on being their own ubiquitous selves despite criticism. I admire that.
Well, a pigeon can dream, can't he? The pigeons around here know their limitations and just wait patiently on the ground for falling seeds. Cute capture and write up!
