Thank you for your comments and FAV's for my red carnation yesterday, always appreciated.
I was just passing the village playing fields when I noticed the local cricket team were in action this afternoon. Well I couldn't miss this opportunity as I'm sure that our American friends wouldn't have an idea what this is.
Cricket in Summer is a National game, ranging from International matches down to local village teams like this. I would imagine this was probably a veterans team as it was a Wednesday afternoon, and with no disrespect to the players, most looked to have had a few years behind them.
Now I'm not going to try and teach you the rules, you will just have to look them up, but the right white clothing and impeccable behavior is a must. At have time it's usually into the village hall for tea and cakes before continuing the match, all very civilized.
The village team is King's Stanley and I live just behind the trees up towards the hill. Best viewed with a black background.
Very well captured! While I have heard of the game, I will have to look up the rules and regulations. In this case, it's certainly played in a beautiful location.
Very nice panorama. I have heard of Cricket, must be from reading all those English books. Impeccable behavior, something the American sports teams lack. Their sportsmen like behavior is severely lacking. Love the photo btw!
