Firstly, I have gone down with a shocker cold and sore throat, almost teetering on the edge of man-flu but as you know we will cope. I haven't had one for years and I haven't been out today. I don't think you can catch it over the internet but you never know.
I took this yesterday on my Brothers garage wall and everyone will recognise the "Daddy Long Leg". It comes under the character of a flying spider but doesn't produce silk. It also has a very venomous bite, fortunately for humans the can't open their jaw enough to bit us.
As a child I was petrified of these, especially at night when they flow into your face, I would scream the house down if one was in my bedroom. Today I still don't like them and would quickly get rid of them if it came close. View with the dark surround if you have time.
Thank you all for your comments and FAV's for my Moth yesterday. (Sniff, sniff)
We used to call them leather jackets and looking at your picture I can see why. Hope you are feeling better very soon and out again now that the weather is improving.
I'm with Janice @janiskay - it's nothing like the daddy long legs we have here in Oz! And they're certainly nothing to be worried about! Now, rug up, keep warm and get better soon :)
