An Ornate Entrance. by ladymagpie

An Ornate Entrance.

When I see old buildings I spend a lot of my time staring at the roof lines and all that hidden architecture, I have also been known to walk into things due to looking upwards in old towns. It's surprising what you see that others just walk by.

I wonder how many people have gone through this Victorian doorway without noticing how ornate the stonework is. It is in fact an old infants school and I've heard it may either get pulled down or revert to another use, hopefully the latter.

I'm sorry I couldn't get a better angle but I was up against one of those horrible temporary classrooms that had been built in the playground. View with the dark surround and thank you for all your comments and FAV's for the little chapel yesterday.
Nice pov and lovely detail.

Gorgeous details. I'm hoping they decide to find another use for this beautiful building!

A very well designed doorway which still looks good 100years later.

they sure don't build them like that anymore. Who placed a red door there?

Quite unusual, I'm one of those who would not notice so very much appreciate you pointing it out.
