Bitterly cold start to the day and by lunchtime it's tipping down with rain, so this morning I prepared my spreadsheets and team sheet ready for the weekend live football match.
I was determined to visit my place of heaven and therefore after taking down some notes off the internet I made my way to my local auction rooms and the preview day. There were several pieces of pottery I wanted to look at, plus a single item of silver and I was pleased I did. A couple of the items were damaged which you couldn't see on the internet and the silver item had been poorly repaired. These items were all knocked off my list for tomorrows auction which I will do on line. As you can see there was some lovely other things but this Magpie has to control herself. View with the dark surround.
Thank you all for your comments and FAV's yesterday that put the thatched cottage on the PP page, remember one half was up for sale.
Oh I do love a good auction but would have to be there in person for the excitement. I love going to Kirkby Lonsdale auctions but haven't been since the friend I went with died last year. Good luck for tomorrow.
Love the shot and a good auction! Can't resist saying that your first comment, bitterly cold, caught my attention as we head to a sweltering hot of 40 degrees today :)
Like you, I have to control myself at auctions. It is difficult when you see something going cheap but I need to be getting rid of things, not buying things. Wonderful capture!
