Today's sunshine brought a sparkle to the canal waters and brought a few people out and a bout. I don't think that it was warm enough to sit out on a picnic bench, or perhaps they were just having a quick meeting.
This is taken on the Gloucester to Sharpness canal just south of the city of Gloucester. Maybe when it warms up in Summer I will spend a bit more time watching the boats chug up and down, today they seem to be more content in using a handy parking spot. View with the dark surround if you have time.
Thank you for all your comments and FAV's I love them all.
Twas warm enough at 4C on Tuesday to sit by Straford River /Canal and watch boats with a picnic..... My boys are being brought in my side of the families tradition of picnicking outside almost regardless of the weather! Littlest, my mum and I once braved almost snow to picnic.... and you think you're the slightly crazy one!!
Lovely scene. It is so British to have a picnic if the sun is shining regardless of the temperature.
The only time I have been back to the UK in the last 26 years was in April 1994 and it was freezing. I was seriously 'rugged up' and my sisters neighbour called in wearing shorts and tee shirt. He thought it was a beautiful day because the sun was shining. The temperature was 12 degrees C. Mad!
