The sun's been shining but it's still bitterly cold, yet this didn't puts me off a walk along the old canal. I was again hunting for a geocache but there were no pillboxes involved in the capture of this one, just a beautiful view.
The canal looks wide and clear yet right behind me is an old derelict lock and the canal disappears in the undergrowth. You can still follow the path of the canal but it will need a great deal of restoration before boats can travel along it, it's an ongoing voluntary job but rewarding for those involved. View with the dark background if you can.
Thank you for all you comments and FAV's for the Jackdaw, I didn't give me nightmares but there was a frightening happening at 4 o'clock in the morning.
I had taken a drink from my bedside water bottle and snuggled back down into my pillow. Suddenly there were flashing bright lights that lit up the bedroom, followed by a lot of noise. I had only put the drinks bottle down on top of the bedroom TV controller and switched the flipping television on. Made me jump.
You a,ways make me laugh Heather.....only you could switch the TV on by mistake with a drinks bottle! You must be a very fit lady all the walking you do!
Beautiful view. Fav. Your story about the flashing lights in your bedroom reminded me of a story my sister told me some time ago. When you look out of her bedroom windows there is a large field where busy farmers do what they have to do, sometimes in the middle of the night. One night (she was half asleep) she jumped in her bed when she saw the flashing lights of a tractor coming closer and closer to her and she didn't have the faintest idea what it could be. It was only after a few minutes she realised what was going on.
I had to look up geocaching on the internet here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YTqitVK-Ts HOW FASCINATING!!! Amazing that it's so bitter cold, yet doesn't look it. Beautiful scene!
