Down to the Old Mill

It's a sweltering hot day today and rather than go outside and melt here is another photograph from my recent walk along the canal. This is one of the oldest woolen mills in the valleys, that today has been completely modernised and is now the main offices of the local council.

Everything is organised and decided around these offices, if you want to improve your home, the roads, housing and in fact, I'm always contacting them as I get a bee in my bonnet about unauthorised advertising on walls and roadside. They do know me well on this subject and I have had several adverts taken down.

I would like to point out how the building on the right has taken a photograph of me doing press-ups. Perhaps not, but it is a very large gymnasium. Thanks for all your lovely comments and FAV's yesterday, if you have a chance view this with the dark surround.
Love these old mill buildings, such a well selected POV too - fav. I'd like to have worked there, as I've mentioned before (retired from loc. govt.) Glad you chase those fly-posters! Which council, btw?

Iconic shot of al old mill town. One can sense the energetic noise and bustle of workers that once dominated this now tranquil scene.

@ivan Stroud District Council Ivan, it wasn't the fly posters it was the companies put big advertising boards up on historic walls than got my goat, free advertising is not permitted.

Lovely scene and I am so pleased that the old buildings have been revamped.
What temperature do you call 'sweltering' in the UK?

Very nice scene with the old Mill buildings. you are being watched!!

@onewing It must have been sweltering as 50% of the people in the supermarket were wearing shorts, of those half shouldn't have worn shorts for various reasons.

great scene! So what do you call sweltering hot?
June 6th, 2016
@gilbertwood It's where people in supermarkets start wearing short when they really haven't got the figure for it.
