My fight against the starlings continues but I don't seem to be winning at all. I must be the only person to have starlings that are trained by commandos as they seem to work out just how to pinch the food.
The start by landing on the top before spinning around the cage to find the best position. You can see I've added extra smaller mesh in front of the feeder holes, but with a real bend and stretch of their necks they can still just about reach it. I can't add any more mesh as it would stop the little birds from getting in.
So as it has curtailed the mobbing of this feeder and they are limited to one at a time I'll put up with it. Anyway on wet day, like yesterday, I can sit on the settee and be amused by all there antics, I had to rescue one the other day who had forced itself through the hole and couldn't get out again. Best viewed with the dark surround.
Thank you all for your comments on those Lupins yesterday.
superb collage, and it made me laugh! The battle of the crows! and the crows win yet again. Think I agree with you, give up, and just let nature take its course
Thanks for the good laugh
Nice images :-)
We started our fight against the starlings a few days ago. Some of the cherries in our tree are getting a bit of colour and guess how many starlings are gathering in and around the cherry tree every day. I'm sure we are going to lose the battle...
and creative starlings! Well captured and a fav for me!
Thanks for the good laugh
