I've now found that I can stand inches from the porch window, with the feeders only inches the other side. Some birds don't trust me but the starlings are little monsters and just grin at me, as if to say you can't touch me.
This is a baby starling all fluffed up and waiting for Mummy to bring some food to it, it then flaps it wings vigorously whilst Mummy puts food into it's mouth. I'm sure when I was very young I used to do a similar thing whilst sitting in my highchair.
Looking at this youngster, I think my Mum also dressed my in a very fluffy cardigans, fortunately I didn't have to perch myself on a very unsteady metal bar. I never did lose that shape, sort of very round and rotund.
A plain little bird with none of that iridescent plumage the adults have. My mind has visions of you in your high chair Heather, I'm sure you were a beautiful little girl who waited patiently to be fed!
