Help, Panic, What can I do

Please promise me you won't laugh too much at a problem I had today. I know 365project is about the pictures we take, but don't take mine to seriously today.

I had an appointment this afternoon at my local hospital for eye checks regarding diabetes. So I decided I better have my monthly shower (wink) so as not to upset the hospital staff. After my shower I always open the bathroom window to let any steam out, followed by closing the bathroom door as it keeps banging in the wind.

An hour later I was getting ready and decided to pay a visit to the bathroom before leaving. Horror of horrors my bathroom door was jammed shut, and whatever I tried it wouldn't open. I was panicking and running at the door giving it loads of shoulder barges, but it was hopeless.

I had to run round to my neighbour saying, "Please can I use your loo", and she was already laughing as I explained my problem, how can I live in my bungalow without a loo. Bucket I thought, yes OH BUCKET.

I went to the hospital no problem, but with it being school chucking out time it took almost an hour to drive home. As I pulled up my drive you can all guess what I needed can't you. I put the car to bed in its garage and grabbed a screw driver.

If you look top centre I had to split the framework away and then slide a breadknife through the gap and suddenly the door burst open, it was a relief in many ways. I've stripped it down and must now buy some new parts, perhaps Santa well help. To all you folks that have got more than one bathrooms in their homes, you will never know what panic stations set in.

Keep smiling.
Heavens, what a morning you had! And, yes, I remember the one bathroom days (and had to share with my roommate) You are very resourceful, as I don't think I could have gotten the door opened (and definitely couldn't put it back together) This is a fav, as it gave me some laughs today ♥

@linnypinny It's not back together yet and if I have any visitors they will just have to whistle to let me know they are on the throne.

Ooh ! Heather ! what a catastrophe !! At least you were not the old lady locked in the loo !! Hope you will be able to replace the offending parts to get it in working order again . Good that you managed to get to your diabetic eye appointment ( mine is booked for the beg of January !! )

Ooohhh bucket!!! That's nasty! Imagine not being on good terms with the neighbour...

Not a good day for you, lucky that you have accomodating neighbours

Yes good job you were on the right side of the door when it locked! If you had no phone on you which would have been likely you would be there yet! 😱. I must agree you sound very resourceful…..

Perhaps you should purchase a "port-a-loo" and have it handy in the garage. Or a five gallon (20 liter) bucket with seat.

Best you get you eye examined and leave the door for later.

A bread knife? Always a useful tool.
Glad it’s all resolved, well the door is at least open.

Phew what a story. Good job you were locked out of the loo rather than in it.

I only have one bathroom, and when it was being remodeled, I was fortunate that my mom lived around the corner to take my showers. I have a commode in the attic that has seen some use in desperate times!
